How much would motorcycle insurance cost for a 17 year old male?

Assuming I have a perfect driving record.

Is mototcycle insurance generally cheaper than car insurance?

Bike insurance is generally cheaper as it weights less and it won’t carry more than one passenger.
You aren’t mentioning WHAT motorcycle you are thinking of, so lets say between $100 and $2000.

It pays to shop around as prices might vary almost $500 for the same policy.

Alright, putting it bluntly you could see yourself paying anywhere from $1 to $1,000,000 per year. As you gave no information as to where you live, what type of motorcycle you would be insuring, or any other relevant info, this is the best price I can come up with for you. In Illinois I have seen bills with my company range from about $200 a year to about $1,000 a year, but some are certainly more expensive than this.

The only way to get an accurate quote is to start calling companies that provide this insurance. Most will need a good amount of information to prepare a quote for you.

Keeping in mind the level of protection that you should have, I would stay with highly reputable companies only, like Liberty Mutual, State Farm and Allstate. They might cost a couple of bucks more, but will be there for you if you need them.
